Douai Park Tennis Club has the use of six courts in the beautiful Douai Park, adjacent to Douai Abbey.  Club members can use the courts throughout the year and take advantage of coaching and other events organized on a regular basis.

We are a very relaxed club with no strict rules about dress. While some members take the game very seriously many of us are simply playing for fun and enjoyment.  We have many family members, which means that we have players of all ages, and all levels of ability.

Douai courts used to be part of Douai School. When that closed in 2001 the courts  were handed over to the local community. In 2007 we set up a new voluntary management committee made up of people from surrounding villages. The improvement in our management structure has resulted in our membership growing every week. At present we have around one hundred and fifty members but we plan to expand further so we can make more improvements and hold more coaching and club nights and social events. We have plans for a mini tennis court and a shelter by the courts, and we are getting involved in the renovation scheme for the pavilion across the cricket pitch, which has a kitchen and lavatories.

Our coaches, who oversee training sessions, are licensed by the LTA, which means they are well trained, insured, and have passed the necessary CRB checks.
